Cherokee Festival of Native Peoples
We decided to go to the Cherokee Festival of Native Peoples this year. Yes that is Aaron holding an alligator!! It was a great experience, fun and educational.
The boys in front of the Museum:
Native Peoples dancing demonstration:
So these five men climbed this giant pole, then four of them tied ropes to their feet and swung all the way down. Here is a youtube video of them doing it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTLhiYeNLs0
All at the top:
Swinging down:
It was pretty cool:
The boys watching with our friend Val and her kids:
So you'd think it would be young guys seeking a thrill, but no it was mostly these cute old men.
Corbin surviving the hot and humid cooling off playing in some water:
Then we watched an alligator wrestler:
He was crazy close to that alligator:
Tickling the gators chin:
Cool but crazy:
Ya crazy:
Then this guy played with a cobra:
Did I say crazy?!:
Tayven got to hold the gator too:
It was a wonderful experience. They boys loved it and we learned a lot.

Blackberry FHE
For Family Home Evening this week we went out to the horse pasture and picked blackberries. The boys had fun finding them. Then we made blackberry jam together. It was my first attempt ever at making jam, so we went with the easy freezer jam. It is so delicious!! We'll definitely have to do it again next year.
