Clint and I have said for a while that we parent backwards. We started with a three year old, then a two year old, and now we've welcomed our newborn Corbin. I knew it would be a challenge learning to care for a newborn with two older children running around, and it definitely has been.
Corbin is a month old now and I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of it. I'm so grateful to my mom, who stayed with us for two weeks to help out, and to Clint who has been a lifesaver and stepped in when I was too tired to keep going.
Though it was a difficult month, it was also the most wonderful month of my life. I completely adore our little baby. Everything about him makes me smile. I feel so blessed to be his mother!!
Experiencing time with Corbin as a newborn has helped me realize what I missed with our older boys. My love for our adopted and soon to be adopted boys is just as deep, I just didn't understand how special the time with a newborn baby can be. I'm sad that I didn't have the opportunity to have that time with them. It makes me all the more grateful for the time I do get with them.
